Lionism
| The
International Association of Lions Clubs began as the dream of
Chicago businessman Melvin Jones. He believed that local
business Clubs should expand their horizons from purely professional
concerns to the betterment of their communities and the world at
large. |
| In
1917 was formed the Association of Lions Clubs. In
1956 the Lions movement was started in India. |
| In
India the Secretariat of the Lions Clubs International
situated at Mumbai. |

Multiple District in India, District 322C3 (consist by Revenue
District Bankura, Birbhum, Burdwan and Purulia) a part of the
Multiple District 322. |
| District 322C3
consist of 66 Clubs, they are doing various type of service
activity for downtrodden people like Sight Conservation and Work
with the Blind, Mother & Child Health Care, Drug Awareness,
Diabetes Awareness, Environmental Services, Hearing and Speech
Action and Work with Deaf. |

- To Create and
foster a spirit of generous consideration among the people
of the world through a study of the problems of International
relationship.

- To Promote
the principles of good government and good citizenship.
|
- To take
an active interest in the civic, cultural, social, and moral
welfare of the community.

- To Unite
the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and
mutual understanding.
|
- To Provide
a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public
interest, provided, however, the partisan politics and
sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members.

- To
Encourage service minded people to serve their community
without personal financial reward and to encourage
efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce,
industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.
